Activity: We will be uprooting Japanese Stiltgrass and other invasive plants around our sensitive upland depression swamp. We will teach you how to identify and remove the plants - no experience necessary, all ages welcome. Stiltgrass has weak roots and is very easy to pull by hand.
Equipment: Bring a pair of gardening or work gloves to protect your hands. Wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy close-toed shoes. We will be working off of the main trails, so the ground may be wet, muddy, and uneven.
Supplies: Be prepared for summer conditions! Wear sunscreen and bug spray and bring plenty of water to drink.
