Volunteer Prince William is looking for dedicated volunteers who can provide transportation on weekdays for veterans and their spouse/widow(er) to local medical appointments, supermarkets, retail and houses of worship. Volunteers pick up the client at their home, take the client to their destination then return the client home, making sure they are safely in their home before the volunteer leaves.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, must successfully complete a Criminal and DMV Background Check, have a valid Virginia Driver’s License, and have a vehicle liability insurance policy. Volunteer vehicles must be kept in good working condition and seat belts must be worn by both the volunteer and client.
Please note, this opportunity is not a match for those needing court-ordered community service or who have been recommended to do community service by an attorney.
Once signed up, you can set your own schedule and drive as often as your time allows by using our online scheduling program. By transporting veterans and their spouses, you’re allowing them to continue living independently in their own home while getting their daily and medical needs met. And a friendly volunteer face does much to brighten up a veteran’s day!

This opportunity is made possible by a grant from the Potomac Health Foundation.
