The Virginia Master Naturalist program is a corps of nearly 2,000 trained, active volunteers engaged in natural resource education, citizen science, and stewardship in their communities. Our volunteers receive more than 40 hours of basic training, including training on citizen science and research skills, and continuing education to provide them with skills and knowledge for specific projects. Some benefits our program offers include access to special projects only available to our volunteers, liability coverage, and being part of a community-based team working together on conservation with measurable impacts.
