Description

Would you like to make a difference in the life of an abused and neglected child? CASA Children’s Intervention Services is seeking volunteers to help our community’s most vulnerable. The first step to becoming a CASA volunteer is to attend an Information Session. At this Information Session you will have the opportunity to hear from our CASA staff about advocating for neglected/abused children in our communities. This is an ideal way to get all of your questions answered prior to submitting an application to our program.

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained citizen who is appointed by local judges to represent the best interest of a child by serving as an extra pair of eyes and ears for the Court and a voice for the child.

Volunteers are needed in Prince William, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren Counties. A CASA volunteer provides the judge with carefully researched background information about the child to help the court make a sound decision about that child's future. Interested potential advocates will be required to submit an application, complete background check, participate in interviews and complete a 32 hour training.

RSVP required to smitchell@casacis.org
