This event is where moms get a calm space to relax while kids enjoy guided art activities with our volunteers. Everyone’s together in the same building, just in their own zones, moms get a real break, and kids get a fun, creative session built for them. We will have drinks (soda and juices, and water), pizza, appetizers and snacks. It’s free but donations are welcome! July 5th at 3001 Sherman Ave NW
Greeters
• Checking moms and children in
• Collect donations for Mommy and Me care packages
• Staff the info table. • Refill supplies (tea, lotion, craft materials).
Relaxation Station Volunteers
• Check on moms
• Lead simple two minute breathing exercises or quiet grounding prompts.
• Offer a “take a breath” card moms can bring home.
• Lead very light, seated stretches moms can do in regular clothes.
Activity Assistant
• Help kids with the activity
• Be patient and calm and be willing to answer questions
• Help guide the kids; do not do it for them
Photographer
• Take action photos of both areas.
