The Lorton Prison Museum at the Workhouse Arts Center has several new oral histories that need to be transcribed. Auto-transcriptions have been generated, but it is vital that a human being listen to the oral histories and verify the auto-generated text to make corrections. This work can be time consuming and will require the volunteer to sit at a computer with headphones on for long periods of time. The content of the oral history pertains to the history of the Lorton Correctional Complex.
Basic computer skills are a must. English fluency and excellent grammar needed.
Due to the sensitive nature of the oral histories, the work must be completed on site at the Lorton Prison Museum. Work can be completed, after a training, during weekday business hours or when the museum is open on the weekends (Sat. 11AM-6PM/Sun. 12-5PM).
