Second Star Farm and Wildlife Habitat is looking for 4 volunteers ages 13 and older to help out with some of our Very Horsey Halloween Event on November 1st. We're going to have volunteers stationed around the fields for a trick-or-treat activity, a craft table for painting pumpkins and reusable trick-or-treat bags, a flameless s'mores and snack station, a photo station, and a very limited number of pony rides. We have experienced horse folks coming for the latter, but all volunteers should be comfortable around large animals, enjoy children, and not mind getting dirty. This is definitely not a fancy barn.
Costumes and/or face paint are encouraged, although there will be some restrictions (for example, nothing that waves frenetically, flashes, or makes loud noises, no full face masks, and nothing super scary). We don't want to frighten either the ponies or the younger children.
Volunteers would be expected to arrive between 12pm and 12:30 for instructions. The event runs from 1pm -3pm. Before volunteering, signed liability waivers are required. If you are interested, or have additional questions, please email me at secondstarfwh@gmail.com!
