Bristoe Winter Hut Work Day, January 17, 2026

We are looking for volunteers to help raise the roof the winter hut log cabin at Bristoe Station. We will be building trusses on the ground and lifting them into position on the log structure. This involves lifting, hammering, cutting  with a handsaw and chisel, drilling, and operating a power driver. It will be chilly and outside so please come prepared. Warm work boots, hats, gloves, a good jacket, and maybe even a thermos of a hot drink are recommended. Due to the lifting nature of the project, this is recommended for teens and adults. All tools are provided. However, if you have a favorite hammer, bring it.
