Greetings, Prince William! Are you a Volunteer Coordinator in the community? If you lead or support volunteers in our community, you won't want to miss the 2026 Community Volunteer Summit. This free event is happening April 16, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the McCoart Building Board Chambers (1 County Complex Court, Woodbridge).

This summit is designed specifically for Volunteer Coordinators and nonprofit leaders looking to strengthen their programs and expand their impact in our community. Connect with peer organizations, exchange ideas, and gain practical insights through engaging sessions focused on:

·         Effective volunteer communication strategies

·         Clearly communicating the impact of volunteers

·         Providing benefits and rewards to volunteers

Representatives from Volunteer Prince William will also lead an interactive training on the free Galaxy volunteer management tool available through our website. This hands-on session will help you streamline your volunteer recruitment and ensure your organization's opportunities reach residents across our community.

Literacy Volunteers of America - Prince William needs volunteer tutors online and in person.  You'll tutor adult learners to help them improve their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.  Training and resource materials are provided.  Once trained, they'll match you with the adult students.  Volunteers are asked to commit to one class per week (two hours per class). Leopold's Preserve is a 380-acre nature preserve in Western Prince William County with more than 7 miles of walking trails and interpretive signage for passive recreation.  The White House Farm Foundation has several fun volunteer opportunities to help support Leopold's preserve, including volunteer opportunities for youths such as building wood duck nest boxes.  See their volunteer opportunities here: https://tinyurl.com/558xx5dk

 

Does being a child advocate for immigrant children hold a special place in your heart?  If so, The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights is looking for you!  You would work one-on-one with unaccompanied migrant children to connect with them and advocate for their rights.  They host multiple training courses annually in person and online.  Training will take place in April, June, and September for 2026.  Find more information here:  https://tinyurl.com/3m89u8fp

 

Volunteer as an ESOL Teacher for BEACON and join their mission to empower adult English learners in the greater Manassas area! They need passionate volunteers for the Spring Semester (March 23 - June 11) to teach English to speakers of other languages (ESOL). No teaching experience or language skills required - training and materials are provided. Volunteers can choose morning or evening classes, offered online or in person in Manassas and Manassas Park. Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia is looking for role models to help transform lives for Spring 2026!  The impact of a Girls on the Run volunteer coach is as boundless as it is beautiful. Attention history lovers! Prince William County Dept. Of Parks & Recreation is looking for Adult Historic Volunteers and Junior Preservationists to support their work at three historic sites: Rippon Lodge, Ben Lomond Historic Site and Brentsville Courthouse. Adult volunteers age 18+ and youth volunteers age 13-17 are all welcome! The whole family can participate, and you'll enjoy learning about Prince William County's rich history!
