Weekly Happenings
February 13, 2026
Greetings, Prince William! We hope you enjoy your weekend and find value in this week's column - and hopefully some fun volunteer opportunities!
Our newest partner Hands On Harvests wants to work with gardeners who want to start a family garden or maintain a current garden! They're willing to provide seeds, seedlings and mentorship. In exchange they ask that you donate some of your produce to local partner pantries and report the donation details to them. You'll get the whole family involved in gardening, and your donation can provide healthy vegetables to food insecure families in our community! Please visit Grow A Row - Grower | Volunteer Prince William for more information.
If you're passionate about fighting Food Insecurity, Northern Virginia Food Rescue wants to talk to you! Volunteers age 18+ are needed Mondays & Tuesdays 10am-1pm to help in their warehouse located at 10535 Battleview Parkway in Manassas to sort and prepare produce that goes directly to partner pantries and neighbors in need. You'll feel so good knowing you're helping hungry families be able to enjoy fresh veggies! Visit Food Rescue Warehouse Volunteer | Volunteer Prince William to learn more.
The fun staff at Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has several adoption events planned this month and they're looking for volunteers to help! What could be better than spending a day with all the dogs and cats and helping them find new homes?! Dates with openings:

Drivers age 18+ are also needed to transport dogs and cats from local shelters to adoption events on weekends! All upcoming Lucky Dog volunteer opportunities can be seen here: https://bit.ly/4q7FNIE
