Volunteer Prince William's Untrim a Tree program is in full swing again but we have a LOT of kids still in need of a sponsor! This program helped over 4,000 children in Title I schools in our local area and 800 seniors in 2024!

There are several volunteer opportunities on our website, but here's a few in case you're interested in helping throughout our community!
Volunteer with BEACON's Winter Semester! Help adult immigrants improve their English skills-no teaching experience or foreign language knowledge needed; training provided. The winter semester runs December 1-March 5, with both in-person and online teaching options available. Morning options are available Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am-11:30am and evening options are available Tuesdays and Thursdays 7pm-9pm. Help House of Mercy make Christmas happen for low-income children by supporting their Christmas With Mercy program! Volunteer Elves are needed December 2 thru 13 to help with toy sorting/organizing, gift wrapping and assisting parents with selecting gifts for their children (December 12 & 13). All volunteering will be held at House of Mercy, 8150 Flannery Court, Manassas 20109. If you enjoy decorating for the holidays, here's a wonderful opportunity for you! CRi, Choice. Respect. independence needs volunteers age 12+ to put up decorations around the exterior of their group homes. Decorations can be homemade or purchased; just please make sure they can withstand the weather for the duration of the holiday month. Commercial holiday decorations are welcome such as string lights, Santa, ornaments, and Christmas trees. This family-friendly opportunity will be sure to put you in the holiday mood as you brighten up the lives of these clients who deal with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues. Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center invites you to join their volunteer team and explore the many opportunities offered in support of their mission "We improve health every day." The hospital offers various volunteer opportunities for different interests and skill sets. Whether you have a passion for providing comfort and companionship, assisting with patient transport, helping with wayfinding around the hospital, providing administrative support, or helping to organize special events, your contribution is invaluable! SERVE's Hunger Resource Center has an urgent need for Food Recovery Drivers to make routine pick-ups on Monday-Saturday mornings to rescue food from grocery stores and restaurants to help food-insecure families. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ride along training with experienced volunteer or staff is provided. Volunteers drive agency vehicles, not their own - teens can ride along to help! Just one day a week can make a life-long impact on a local family in need!
