Greetings, Prince William - March 11 must be National Community Cleanup Day because we have not one, but two opportunities for cleanups. You'll feel awesome as you get out in the fresh air with your friends and family and help to beautify our community!

- Leopold's Preserve in Broad Run is holding a Volunteer Trash Cleanup at their facility March 11, 9am-12pm for volunteers age 16+. Since there will be heavier trash to be picked up (appliances, car parts, etc.) volunteers must be at least 16 and should wear close toed treaded shoes, long sleeves and pants. - BEACON for English Language & Literacy is recruiting Volunteer Teachers, Tutors and Substitutes for their spring classes, March 20-June 8. Volunteers are provided with a formal textbook curriculum that incorporates listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Volunteers use the textbook to develop a lesson plan that provides additional opportunities for practice that emphasizes conversation practice and student engagement. You'll feel great as you help adults gain the confidence and learn the language skills needed to get a job, communicate with their children's teachers, talk with their doctor, or pursue higher education! - Birthright of Woodbridge is looking for volunteers to offer loving, confidential, non-judgmental support to those who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant. Many volunteer opportunities are available, full training and mentorship is provided for volunteers so you can best help the women who need you! Volunteers are needed both mornings and afternoons. - You can make a difference in the life of a child! Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) needs volunteers age 21+ who care about children growing up in a safe, permanent and loving home. The staff will hold their next Virtual Information Sessions on March 8, 6pm-7pm, and a second session on March 22, 6pm-7pm. Learn how you can help protect abused and neglected children in your community by becoming a volunteer advocate. - Catholic Charities' Virginia Refugee Student Achievement Program (VRSAP) needs volunteers to help tutor students on an ongoing basis. This program supports children for up to five years after arrival and assists refugee students in target areas so that they will be successful in school. - Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia (GOTR NOVA) is looking for volunteers age 16+ to coach a girls' running team at Bayvue Apartments in Woodbridge during their upcoming season, March 6-May 21. This team practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm-6:15pm. Coaches are asked to commit for the 10-week season, with a few additional hours required for Coach Training and the GOTR NOVA season-ending 5K celebration. - The dedicated staff at Grace United Methodist Church needs volunteers to be Teachers and Helpers for their next session of English as a Second Language (ESL), April 4 thru June 8. - *Virtual Opportunity* Historic Dumfries is seeking an experienced volunteer to help with submitting grants to make The Lee Lansing Research Library more accessible, and to help promote the upcoming 250th commemoration of local history and Revolutionary War history. Your help would directly impact Historic Dumfries as your advice will help the Executive Director prepare to submit two very impactful grants for this small community! - Haul out your brooms and dustrags! Historic Dumfries also needs someone age 18+ to help clean The Weems-Botts Museum! This unique opportunity gives participants a chance to work within the historic house as they carefully vacuum, clean, and help maintain a safe and dust-free setting for their beautiful community collections. The Executive Director will work with participants and will provide training along with all needed materials. - Help fight hunger both locally and internationally! Lutheran Church of the Covenant and Woodbridge Rotary Club are hosting the 8th Annual Rise Against Hunger packaging event March 18, 9am-2:30pm at Neabsco Elementary School, 3800 Cordell Avenue, Woodbridge 22193. Lots of volunteers are needed to help set up, pack meals and clean up - the goal is to package 30,000 meals. All ages welcome! Volunteers are also asked to bring non-perishable foods that day for the families at Neabsco Elementary. Can't make this event? - Mark Your Calendars! After a two-year hiatus, the NVFS Strikes for Stronger Families Bowl-a-Thon is returning on March 18!
