Greetings, Prince William - Prince William Food Rescue needs volunteers to assist Virginia Cooperative Extensions Master Gardeners to collect donations of produce at the Dale City Farmers Market on Sundays, October 17 thru November 14, 12:15pm-1:45pm. Volunteers can help just one week or multiple weeks. Duties include help unload empty milk crates from the truck, distribute crates to vendors, help load crates with donations, and bring the crates back to the truck to be loaded up. Be prepared to lift crates of produce that can weigh up to 30lbs each. This opportunity happens rain or shine, and families can help! - The talented staff at BEACON is preparing for their Winter Semester, November 29 thru March 4! Volunteer Instructors or Substitute Teachers are needed to provide online small group instruction via Zoom in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). No second language or previous teaching experience is required; free training is provided. Volunteers teach 2-4 hours per week. Classes are a 12-week commitment and are offered either in the morning, 9:30am-11:30am (Mon/Wed), or evening, 7pm-9pm (Tue/Thur). Drop off locations are Haymarket Medical Center, Prince William Medical Center and Sentara Lake Ridge. Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to potential accidental poisoning, misuse, and overdose. - Medical Reserve Corps Support your local health department and your community during a public health emergency! Volunteers are needed to support several missions, including public health education and outreach, disease investigation, vaccine clinics, and more!
