- The PWC Panthers Track Club needs volunteers on Saturday May 25th for their annual track meet at Colgan HS. They are expecting 65 teams with 25-60 members on each team so lots of logistic help is needed. The event starts early in the morning and goes all day. - House of Mercy is collecting new underwear and socks on Friday May 31st from 10am-3pm. All sizes and gender is needed. You can drive up to their location at 8170 Flannery Court, roll down your window and toss them in the donation bins to help those in need.
- The Tough Mudder is coming to Silver Lake in Haymarket on June 1st & 2nd. This team oriented 8-10 mile obstacle course will have thousands of participants. - K9s Serving Vets needs volunteers for two upcoming events to assist with planning. The Annual Service Dog Salute 2 Veterans event with raffle and silent auction in August at the Bungalow Alehouse and a 1950's benefit event in October. The following committees need volunteers- sponsorships, venue/catering, auction, promotions, printing, ticket sales, volunteers and education. - The wonderful folks at Serve Our Willing Warriors needs House Prep volunteers to prepare the Retreat homes for visiting veterans and their families. With two Retreat houses available, there's plenty of work to do, and it's a wonderful way to thank our veterans for their sacrifices. - Area Agency on Aging needs volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels mid-day in both the Manassas and Woodbridge communities. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday. They also need volunteer activity assistants at the Adult Day Healthcare Center for fun activities such as chess, checkers, dominos, and bingo and play musical instruments. - The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is looking for volunteers' age 55+ to deliver noon meals through the Meals on Wheels Program. Shifts are just 2-3 hours and available in throughout the greater area. RSVP members receive a mileage reimbursement and additional insurance coverage at no cost to the volunteer.
