BRAWS- Bringing Resources to Aid Women's Shelters- is a volunteer driven community organization bringing dignity and empowerment to women and children in need. Our core values are respect, affinity, empowerment, and generosity.
Through partnerships with local shelters, schools, and community organizations, BRAWS distributes new, personally fitted undergarments and menstrual supplies to those experiencing homelessness, transitional housing, domestic violence, poverty, and emergency situations.
Since 2015, BRAWS has distributed over 6 million menstrual supplies and undergarments and has partnered with 163 community partners.
BRAWS collects bras and underwear (new with tags on) and menstrual supplies (tampons and pads) and distributes them to shelters and schools throughout Northern Virginia and DC.
Programs include shelter and public school distributions, collection drives, on-site fitting events, and humanitarian support.
