Who We Are

We are a local 501c3 nonprofit located in Manassas but we serve Prince William County and potentially beyond.  We were founded in June 2016, after the loss of my 17 yr old son to suicide in Oct. 2015.  Our mission is to bring awareness to mental health and suicide prevention to our community and to provide support and resources to those who suffer in silence.

What We Do

  • We award a graduating high school senior with a $1000 scholarship.
  • We facilitate 2 local support groups; one for suicide loss survivors and the other for parents who have lost a child to suicide.  Each meet once a month in Manassas.
  • We have a Facebook group which is closed to the public that serves as an online support group.  We have close to 1,240 members worldwide.
  • We work with local and state legislators to get laws passed to save lives.
  • We have resource tables at many local events where you can come and learn more about us and we have fundraisers throughout the county.
  • Our website is djcfoundation.org if you would like more information.
