Who We Are

Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William, Inc.was founded in 1991 by local librarian Dona Swanson. The mission of LVA-PW is to improve lives through adult literacy. LVA-PW is an affiliate of ProLiteracy America, a nationwide organization of over 1,200 member programs. Volunteers from the community are trained to be tutors and then matched with adults who want to improve their literacy or English language skills.
