Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Prince William

The 2026 Bluebell Festival is on Sunday, March 29th at Merrimac Farms WMA.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with several roles on the day of to keep things running smoothly:

Parking Volunteer - Lead cars to parking, check for empty spots, keep traffic flowing, and encourage cars to park closely

Welcome Volunteer - Welcome visitors at all entrances to the festival, give directions when asked

Trail Volunteer - Stand at the entrance and exit of the Bluebell Trail, make sure visitors enter at the right location, and keep track of the tour schedule to answer questions

PWCA Tabling Volunteer - Sit at PWCA’s table, explain our programs and efforts to visitors, share about the email newsletter and volunteer opportunities, process donations

Roaming Volunteer - Assist other volunteers when needed, get water and snacks for volunteers, empty trash cans, and replace bags when needed 

Tour Announcer - Stand at the starting point of tours and give regular updates to the crowd with a megaphone. Give a 5-minute heads upand departure calls, introduce tours and tour guides to those gathered

Trail Volunteers:  Volunteers help prepare the trails at Merrimac Farms WMA in Nokesville, VA for the upcoming Bluebell Festival on Sunday March 29th.  Trail crews will work during the weeks prior to the festival.  Must be comfortable working outdoors.  The focus of the work is providing trail maintenance.

The 2026 Bluebell Festival is on Sunday, March 29th at Merrimac Farms WMA.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with several roles the week before to help prepare for the festival:

Set-up Volunteers: Assist with set up the day before (Saturday, March 28th) by raising tents and tables, labeling tables, and doing last sweeps for parking areas and trails

Garden Cleanup Volunteers - Prepare the wildlife garden the week before for the festival, cut and clean paths. This will be our first Merrimac Garden workday of the season.

Gravel Volunteers - Help spread gravel for parking the week before the festival.

The 2026 Bluebell Festival takes place on Sunday, March 29th.  We are looking for a few volunteers to help up clean up after the event ends to keep this wilderness area pristine.

Clean Up Volunteers - Clean up immediately after the festival’s end on Saturday.
