Volunteer: Postpartum Peer Mentor VolunteerAre you a survivor of postpartum depression, anxiety or other perinatal mood and anxiety disorder and want to provide help and hope to new parents going through a similar experience? PSVa’s Peer Mentors are volunteers who have firsthand/lived experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. As survivors, they understand the struggle and the path to wellness, and want to offer support to those who are suffering. Training is required but is provided to volunteers through our organization. Or do you want to ensure all maternity patients in Virginia receive information about PMADs in hospital discharge paperwork or from their providers? We rely extensively on a state-wide network of dedicated volunteers who are the backbone of the organization. Volunteers provide direct support to new mothers and parents and their families experiencing a difficult time in their lives AND provide behind-the-scenes support to PSVa in a variety of administrative duties. All volunteers have a positive impact on the lives of new and expectant parents and their families in Virginia. Training is required but required for free to volunteers through our organization. The first step is to complete the PSVa Volunteer Application.
