Purpose
This position supports the Regional Service to the Armed Forces department. This position provides leadership and management of volunteers in a clinic within an Military Treatment Facility (MTF) such as: Dental/Veterinary/Medevac/Pharmacy/PT/OT/Surgical etc. -
Responsibilities
- Ensure volunteers follow any guidelines related to uniform and immunization requirements
- Ensure volunteers maintain professionalism and follow Red Cross Code of Conduct
- Follow up with volunteers and military entities to ensure job satisfaction and/or needs of both are met
- Conduct annual and ongoing clinic needs assessment
- Assist in planning and participate in volunteer recognition activities
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Coordinate and schedule unit required volunteer training as needed
- Interact and liaise with volunteers and Red Cross management and military personnel as needed
- Ensure continuity of required specialized volunteer training, placement and volunteer recognition.
- Ensure volunteers are tracking hours in Volunteer Connection

Time Commitment
- 8-10 hours weekly, spread out over 2+ days per week. - In Person
- Some flexibility required.
- Volunteering options are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
- COVID Vaccination Required (Fully, 2 weeks after 2nd dose)
- Needs to be a US Citizen without Dual citizenship

Qualifications
Required
- Access to military installation and military treatment facility
- Willing to submit to additional security and health clearances as required by medical treatment facilities in compliance with government regulations.
- Ability to work well with different cultures and personality types.
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills to include email and Microsoft Office products
Preferred
- Familiarity with the medical facility organization and knowledge of volunteer guidelines within a medical setting
- Knowledge of Red Cross programs and services; knowledge of military protocol

Length of Appointment
Indefinite until successor with initial commitment of 1 year
