Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Prince William

Become a Volunteer Usher at the Hylton and join a welcoming and accommodating community dedicated to supporting the arts. Volunteer Ushers help ensure that Hylton Center patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience while attending performances and events.

Whether ushering at one or more of our many performances and events or representing the Hylton Center at community events, our volunteers play an integral role in the operation of the Hylton Center. Our volunteers are a diverse and fun group to work with and enjoy sharing their time and talents with us. Volunteering is flexible, with many event times to fit into your schedule.

I have been with the Hylton Performing Arts Center for over 4 years as a Volunteer Usher… The Hylton is truly a family and Community Organization. As a Military Spouse, I am so proud to be a part of how the Hylton honors the military in the Community and has an outreach to military families … The Hylton Performances that we Volunteer Usher are Top notch Orchestral Shows, with a variety of Cultural Opportunities, from Ballet to Solo Artists from around the world just to mention a few along with traditional Holiday Events such as the Nutcracker. The programs that the Hylton Offers are truly a value to the Prince William County Community.

Volunteer Ushers work alongside the rest of the Front of House staff to ensure that Hylton Center patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience while attending performances and events. Volunteer ushers sign up for performances they would like to work three times a year (August, January, April.) The number of performances volunteers are required to sign up for vary based on the needs of the sign-up period, but generally range from six to eight.
