Ride-along training is provided. Teens can ride with drivers to assist. Food Recovery Drivers are needed weekday mornings, especially Mondays, to pick up donations from Manassas-area grocery stores/restaurants and deliver the food to our Hunger Resource Center. We provide the van and you collect the food for hungry families. It's also a great way to accomplish two tasks at once, all before lunchtime - volunteering and your morning workout! Volunteers must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Teens can ride with drivers to assist. Ride-along training with experienced volunteer is provided. Serving time for Dinner is 5pm. Meals may be brought in or prepared on-site in our fully equipped kitchen. Volunteers must supply all food ingredients for the meal. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (ages 12 thru 17 welcome, but must volunteer with a responsible adult), prior experience with meals helpful. Volunteers will feel great knowing they are providing a home-cooked meal to adults and children coping with a homeless situation. This is a great group opportunity for offices!
