Help Potomac Conservancy kick off the Growing Native season here at Leesylvania State Park.
Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to help collect native tree seeds in this beautiful and historic park. These seeds will go to local nurseries that grow trees for reforesting efforts across the region. Not only will you be creating forests for tomorrow, you will also learn more about the important connection between healthy, forested lands and clean waters.
What you need: Close-toed shoes and Sharp nut-spotting eyes
What we provide: Everything else. All tools, drinking water, and supplies will be provided by Potomac Conservancy and Leesylvania State Park.
Check-in is between 9:30 a.m. and 10. It is important that you arrive on time so that we can get started with instructions and a brief Tree-ID lesson at 10 a.m.
Tell the ranger at the gate that you are there for the volunteer event for free admission. For more information please call 703-583-6904.
