Relay For Life of Eastern Prince William County is 63 teams made up of 677 individuals from Prince William County and neighboring counties that will come together this year at Garfield High School on May 18th and 19th. We will join other communities of cancer patients, their families, and friends from around the globe this spring for RFL’s 28th year of fundraising for the American Cancer Society.
Relay For Life teams to raise money for community cancer awareness programs, like “Look Good, Feel Better” and the American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program which provides one-on-one guidance to people facing cancer through every step of their journey. And, the portion of our fundraising profits that goes to the American Cancer Society for research makes them the largest private funder of cancer research in the United States.
And, while fundraising we come together as a community to celebrate those who have won their battle, remembering those who lost, and honoring those currently fighting.
The opening ceremonies will start at noon on the 18th and continue through 7:00 am on the 19th. The football field becomes the teams’ home for the weekend while they continue fundraising and fulfill their commitment to having a team member on the track at all times. And, the greatest part, the entire community is invited into our homes to shop our fundraising tables and participate in our fun activities; supporting our worthy cause!
