It is Spring so that means the American Diabetes Association's staff and volunteers are gearing up for the 2013 National Capital Tour de Cure in Reston, VA on June 2nd. We are proud to present the country's premier cycling event to raise funds for diabetes research and promote diabetes awareness. The National Capital Tour de Cure is the 5th largest diabetes-focused cycling event. We are preparing for a successful 2013 year and we need your volunteer support to make it a reality!
The event is made up of three shifts;
5am - 11am (Early Riser)
10am - 1pm (Mid Day Glory)
1pm - 5pm (Afternoon Wrap-Up)
or you can volunteer for the whole day.
Tasks: We have a wide range of tasks! We need volunteers to help at the registration table, hand out t-shirts, greet riders, take photos of the riders and cheer them on as they triumphantly return! Also we need people to can help out at the rest stops & event set-up/clean-up. There are even more great tasks needing volunteers; we need experienced cyclists that are familiar with Northern Virginia to volunteer for the bike marshal task and EMTs or Nurses to volunteer for safety/1 st Aid Crew.
