This spring, BRMC will be hosting a series of classes for homeschoolers.
Rocks tell stories of continents colliding and thrusting up, torrential lava flows, epics of the creation and destruction of entire oceans, and the flow of ancient freshwater streams. Join BRMC as you walk on the Bull Run Mountains and investigate numerous types of rocks including igneous rocks of magma intrusions and flows and sedimentary and metamorphic rocks formed during multiple erosion cycles of ancient mountain ranges. Participants will gain an understanding of the geologic processes that have occurred over the past billion years as you learn to identify rocks by there composition, grain size, textural features, color, and presence or absence of fossils.
Pre-registration is required. Cost: $5 per participant including adults.
