To celebrate Earth Day, join staff and volunteers along the hiking trail at Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre to remove invasives that suffocate native trees. If you can pull your shoestrings, you have the skills to help pull destructive invasive Japanese honeysuckle vines. Cutting damaging English ivy vines requires a skill like cutting a partially cooked potato. No experience or knowledge needed. Wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt. Bring work gloves and a hat that can get dirty. If you have a favorite clipper, pruner or sturdy rake, bring it. Meet in the parking lot of Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre at 12229 Bristow Road, Bristow, VA. Please no pets. This is a good opportunity for scout and student volunteer hours. If you have questions or need accommodations related to disability, please contact Paige Gibbons Backus at pgibbonsbackus@pwcgov.org.
