Greetings, Prince William:  ACTS Hunger Prevention Center has a Critical Need for compassionate volunteers to deliver food to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities in eastern PWC.  They have a particular need for deliveries on Mondays!  Food is picked up at ACTS, 17948 Dr. David Cline Lane in Dumfries and delivered to clients at their home.  Deliveries occur between 11am-1pm; most routes take about one hour.  Volunteers should be prepared to pick up boxes which may weigh up to 40 lbs.  It's a meaningful way to make a direct impact in just an hour of your time!  Please email SCouteau@actspwc.org to learn more.

 

·   Cat Lovers!  The wonderful staff at Animal Allies is looking for cat-loving volunteers age 21+ who can provide foster homes for adult cats and kittens in the Woodbridge and Alexandria areas.  You'll feel fantastic as you help rescue homeless kitties off the streets and help find them forever families.  Fosters are helped with supplies and guidance while you help feed and love those furbabies!  If you can open your heart and home to a homeless cat/kitten, please fill out an application at https://www.animalalliesva.org/volunteer.  Please email services@animalalliesva.org for more information.

·   Brain Injury Services (BIS) has an ongoing need for volunteers to be PALS (Providing a Link for Survivors) for brain injury survivors in the local area.  Once a month outings for things such as coffee, walks, chess, lunch, etc. can help clients get their life back on track following a traumatic brain injury!  They're also in need of a Volunteer Guitar Teacher for a female brain injury patient who lives in Gainesville.  Just 1-2 times a month for six months for 1-2 hours can help with her recovery!  Please visit www.braininjurysvcs.org/volunteer/ for more information, email mthyen@braininjurysvcs.org or call 703.451.8881 ext. 232 to learn how you can help.

·   The fun staff at CRi invites you to come out and celebrate at Community Fest 2025 being held May 10, 11am-2pm at Wolf Trap, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna 22182! ·   You can help fight hunger!  The SERVE campus of Northern Virginia Family Service needs Food Recovery Drivers age 21+ to make routine food pick-ups from grocery stores and restaurants to help food insecure families.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50lbs.  Training with an experienced volunteer or staff is provided; volunteers drive agency vehicles, not their own.  Bring along a buddy to help - it's a great workout while you help feed local families!  Please email ncannon@nvfs.orgfor more information.

·  The awesome staff at Sweet Julia Grace Foundation is in Urgent need of volunteers to support their SJGF Adult Field Day on May 17 at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run, 16015 John Marshall Highway in Broad Run 20137!  Individuals, families, groups and businesses are welcome!  Duties include setting up on May 16, helping set up games on May 17, helping run the games and cleaning up after the event.  You'll laugh, do good and feel good as you help this organization which supports children who are seriously ill, have special needs, or are currently facing a medical crisis!  Please visit https://bit.ly/3YwqCfZ to sign up and learn more.
