Happy Halloween! Here's a quick rundown of what's happening at Volunteer Prince William!
Volunteer Prince William's Untrim a Tree program is in full swing again! This program helped over 4,000 children in Title I schools in our local area and 800 seniors in 2024! Volunteers will be needed in December to help sort and organize toys so please stay tuned for more details!

- The SERVE campus of NVFS needs volunteers age 16+ to help at the SERVE Hunger Resource Center on November 8, 10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm. Duties include unloading, weighing & sorting food that will be donated by local Boy Scout Troops as part of their Scouting for Food program. Be prepared to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. It's a good way to get into the holiday spirit and help local food insecure families have food for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday! - Please join Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Angela Franklin and the wonderful staff of Keep Prince William Beautiful in their Route 1 Cleanup on November 15, 9am-12pm. Two groups of 20 volunteers will help clean different sections of the road. Volunteers age 16+ welcome, volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. You'll enjoy being out in the fresh air as you help beautify this busy route before the holidays begin! Please visit https://bit.ly/3LmqJai to register!
- You can help vulnerable families have a holiday meal for Thanksgiving! Action in Community Through Service Share the Bounty program is accepting food donations until November 20 at their Food Donation Center, 17958 Dr. David Cline Drive, Dumfries, Monday-Thursday. Volunteers are also needed to help sort food donations and assemble bags for clients. You'll feel great knowing your giving spirit will help food insecure families have a Happy Thanksgiving! - Mark your calendars! The Town of Dumfries is holding its Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting November 22. Volunteers age 18+ are needed to help with checking in/lining up participants, helping with participant spacing to ensure they aren't following each other too closely and parking. Get a jump start on the holidays by supporting this family-friendly event! Please email yragland@dumfriesva.gov for more information.
