Who We Are

The primary responsibility of Prince William County ARES®/RACES is to furnish communications in the event of a disaster or communications emergency when other communications fail or are inadequate

What We Do

The Prince William County Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES®) and the Prince William County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES), referred to as PWCARES, is a joint cadre composed of FCC-licensed Amateur Radio operators who have voluntarily registered their capabilities and equipment for public service communications duty.

You must be a licensed Amateur Radio Operator to volunteer with Prince William County ARES.
