Institute for the Advancement of Women's Health

IAWH is a community-based, 501 c 3, patient advocacy organization, founded in Prince William County, Virginia. Our mission is to broaden the understanding of women’s health beyond reproductive and sexual health, raising awareness and increasing knowledge about a woman as a whole person, considering her sociology and the many social determinants that can impact health and wellness. Established in fall 2018 - two public health professional women lead IAWH with over 35 years of health care experience combined. They recognized the lack of attention, funding, research, and the absence of application of evidence-based prevention and treatment interventions there are for specifically for women.

IAWH is a nonprofit that develops and delivers community-based public health programs that raise awareness, educate, and demonstrate evidence-based women's health.
